Multiple Exposure: I Lost Myself

Posted by Citizen Erased in Double Exposure / Multiple Exposure | 1 Comment

“I lost myself, I lost myself, you can’t see how, becuse I am just a cloud” The original concept behind these multiple exposure was for my 52 Weeks Project last year where I took a self-portrait every week for a year. It was one of those moments where an idea just grabbed me and I spent an hour outside freezing trying to find the best angle and combination between my silhouette and a paper mask. I haven’t included the one I …

Pick of the Week: Skullery

Posted by Citizen Erased in Pick of the Week | Leave a comment

Pick of the Week: Skullery This week’s pick if faux taxidermy shop Scullery which sells necklaces and skull pieces cast out of resin. I have been following this shop for probably 4 years and just never bought a piece even after almost 2 years of having the same crow skull necklace in my basket. However I recently started following Scullery on Instagram and fell in love with what they’ve been doing recently with using multi-colored resin, glitter, even glow in …

Monthly Mixtapes: May Emerges

Posted by Citizen Erased in Monthly Mixtape | Leave a comment

May Emerges is an electronic rock mixtape again like last month but this one is very much about uplifting music that energizes and gives spirit. Featuring heavily on the mixtape is this month’s artist inspiration Fischerspooner, along with Vitalic, Drake, Goldfrapp, Peaches to mention a few and even some old school 90s classics by Sneaker Pimps and Daft Punk. The playlist is also on Youtube, and features a lot of the official videos so worth watching too.

Vintage Tuesday: April Finds

Posted by Citizen Erased in Thrifting, Vintage Tuesday | Leave a comment

Unlike the month before me and Victor have been doing a lot more thrifting than to vintage fairs so there is lot of random bits and bobs this month as there is nothing I love more than something useless under $5. I am a sucker for cheap, cute, pointless things, so much that sometimes for my birthday or Christmas Victor gets mad at me cos all I ask for is useless shit. It’s not my fault though (well…). April was a pretty …

Pick of the Week: Ree Artwork This week’s artist is illustrator Ree from Venezuela and Florida who sells prints and originals. She posts videos as well on Youtube of her work and process which I enjoy since she uses Copic markers which I am trying to learn techniques for. Her gorgeous style really attracted me to her work and I just had to pick something up s0 I bought an original of a mermaid and a few prints that I …

Multiple Exposure: Vancouver Sunset

Posted by Citizen Erased in Double Exposure / Multiple Exposure | Leave a comment

For some reasons these Vancouver sunset multiple exposure photographs remind me of the song “To the Moon and Back” by Savage Garden. They were taken last Summer during one of the many sunsets I managed to watch from my dear friend Nicole’s balcony of downtown. It’s interesting to see the progress of color as the sun gets further down. I haven’t seen any really great sunsets yet this year but here’s hoping… Two different none double exposure shots so you …

Pick of the Week: Soft Market This weekend in Montreal is the second ever, Soft Market featuring a bunch of great local artists and artisans. This one is the Spring edition and I will be there as a seller with some of my colorful and cute bath products I’ve been making in the last few months. So if you see me there, come say hi! I am pretty excited to see how the reception is and I loved going to the last …

Music Inspiration: We Are Wolves

Posted by Citizen Erased in Music Inspiration | Leave a comment

My musical inspiration for April is We Are Wolves, an indie band from Montreal, Canada that not only inspired me spiritually in art but also life. If you’ve ever wondered why a West Coast girl like me ended up in Quebec, well to be honestly I would have never thought of it myself without knowing this band and being intrigued enough to check out their hometown. When I started thinking about what specific record to share I decided to go with …

Posted by Citizen Erased in Vintage Cameras, Vintage Tuesday | Leave a comment

Today I wanted to share with you my newest addition to my vintage camera collection the Kodak No.0 Brownie made between 1928-1935. I bought this lovely and unique camera for $20 just a few weeks ago while antiquing shopping at a market. It uses 127 film, takes 6 x 4 cm exposures is made almost entirely out of cardboard and wood. Below I have a more detailed looked at the camera below because I just love it’s texture and details. This is …
