A few weekends ago Victor convinced me to go to St. Michel flea market on the hunt for all things vintage and wonderful so I thought I’d share with you some of my flee market finds. It was the first time we have ever went to this particular flee market and I think I’m in love. I didn’t bring my camera – thank god because I wouldn’t have taken photos as it’s wall to wall stuff. It’s hard to even move around in there as there are just so many different stalls and most of them are just filled to the brim with everything. So the photos are of all the bric-a-brac that I picked up (for some reason I thought I should just buy myself a ton of earlier Christmas presents). Most of it hasn’t found a permanent home yet…I think that’s the one big problem I have after I buy vintage stuff, where the F do I put this stuff? I should probably do a tour around my house at some point in time or show off some of my ‘collections’. I hesitate because it feels weird to have ‘collections’ of stuff just lying around my house.
Pick of the Week: Pony People
This week’s pick is the Etsy store Pony People who make brooches, stickers and original artwork. I just had to pick up some of their cat brooches at the start of summer especially because the cute grey cat reminds me so much of my own cat Butter. Who can resist a cute grey cat brooch, let alone a flower cat brooch? I just love the creativity and they match my summer dresses so well. They sent with the brooches a free postcard and some stickers that are really cool. Check out more photos below of the brooches and extras!

Pick of the Week: Hungry Designs “Revisted”
Hungry Designs is this week pick of the week and for a 2nd time as I just love this Etsy shop by Amanda Whitelaw. I though what better than around Halloween too as her work is heavily inspired by characters and there is plenty of the undead. Her shop is mostly brooches but she has coasters, prints, necklaces, wall mounts, pillows and more on there too. She a huge favourite of mine for brooches and since my last pick of the week of her work I bought as many more I wanted to show you guys. Her stuff is amazing and worth picking up even though it’ll be hard to just pick one. She frequently has sales too so follow her on tumblr (she also shows up coming designs and her trips to fairs in Australia)! My poor jackalope brooch broke when being shipped because the postman stuffed it into my small slot for mail so that’s why it looks a little messed up because I had to super glue its horns back together so don’t pay that any attention. Below are more photos more of the brooches I’ve picked up and a necklace. My favourite is the necklace and the My Little Pony inspired brooch.

I love unique jewelry organizers, and they are one of the most popular DIYs you can find on sites like Pinterest. It’s not hard to understand why as by the time you are half way through your 20s you seem to have more jewelry than you know what to do with. I love having my jewelry available and in a convenient location but still aesthetically pleasing. My first DIY for the site was a jewelry organizer and it worked great however I had the hooks directly into the wall which is not a great option for people that are renting or conscious about putting too many holes in the walls. Of course as soon as I moved I was out of a jewelry organizer for that very reason. It’s been months since we moved and still just have my jewelry sitting on top of my dresser in a pile – it’s awful. So finally I decided it was time for Jewelry Organizer 2.0. This time I am going to showing how to create a simply and cheap organizer using shelves instead!
What You Will Need:
- Shelf or shelves
- Hammer & nail
(easy to pick up from any hardware store available in various sizes and colors)
- Paint & brush Continue reading %s
Pick of the Week: Ghostwaltz
Ghostwaltz is a Etsy store specializing in brooches and occasionally other cute and adorable items. The owner Danielle has a cute fun blog (here) that has wonderful photography and shows off her unique style. I picked up this lovely brooch from Danielle’s shop because I just fell in love with the simple design. I feel like her work is very inspired by her California location and even though at the moment they are not many items available – they all are wonderful.
Pick of Week: cOnieco
Today`s pick of the week is the Etsy store cOnieco by Paulina from Warsaw, Poland. Its a new shop that sells unique felting needle and hand-embroidered brooches. I absolutely loved her work as soon as I saw it and even though I`m getting a giant collection of brooches I just had to buy one. As soon as I saw the cat brooch, I knew it was the one for me (although the mushroom brooches are really cute as well). It reminds me of Butter so much, most people don`t color cats as grey so it was a surprise to find. She was super kind as well to add in the 2nd brooch, its a ceramic leaf brooch with glaze. It was such a nice gift and I do love them so much. The cat brooch is very large, you wouldn’t think so from the picture but it`s very impressive in size. Its very new shop only around since January but I am excited to see it grow and have more items. She doesn’t have much information on herself so I wasn’t able to find her blog or website but none the less I think her unique brooches are truly wonderful.

Pick of the Week: Hannahdoodle
Hannahdoodle is a Etsy store that sells handmade felt brooches and original pieces of water colr work of Owls run by Hannah Boulter from the UK. Her brooches are beyond adorable and very well made with lots of tiny details that are sure to make you smile. I love the two brooches I got from her, they are a perfect size and wonderful additions to my summer outfits. Besides her store you can check her work out on her blog!
Pick of the Week: WormsWormsWorms
This week I am doing something new for pick of the week, I am revisiting a store that I’ve already done before as a kind of an update and really just because WormsWormsWorms is one of my favourite stores on Etsy to look through and see what’s new. You may notice I do a lot of artist run stores as I love surrounding my house with artwork. The last time I ordered from her, I receive more of her grotesque and beautiful stickers, as well as an original drawing. The stickers are probably the best I’ve seen on Etsy of handmade artist stickers and I never thought I’d own an original drawing from somebody who wasn’t a friend of mine (lucky me has a few pieces of artwork handing on my walls from friends with amazing talent). I have the drawing framed and sitting on my desk looking at me for inspiration while I working on my blog and plan out photography projects. Recently as well she’s started to make some necklaces and brooches using her artwork. I love stores that change and expand what they have available. I recieved a brooch and necklace yesterday so I quickly edited a photo of them in the post (I made the photo b&w but they are amazing colors). You can check her out on tumblr.
Pick of the Week: Hanaletters
Hanaletters or Hanako is a Etsy store that creates “wearable felt portraits of imaginary dolls” done by artist Alian Bunaciu. She makes brooches with whimsical and delightful characters in the portrait style. I adore her style and these brooches are very cute and wearable on all types of outfits and most importantly her style is super unique. I’ve order two separate brooch pairs from her and am so happy with them. My favourite are the bears because the colors go so well with my teal dress, I think I will leave them permanently on the collar. I am really excited to grab more, with so many different doll portraits to choose from it can be very hard, lol to choose. She also runs a blog that shows off the brooches and her making them, here.
