October Treasures

october treasures

I’m starting off October properly with my monthly treasures, very much alien and Halloween themed to get into the spooky season mood (although I’ve been in the Halloween mood since the beginning of September). Pretty much all the X-Files related items this month are my favourites, although the homemade embroidered pins of the famous slogans by SterreSlyme are probably the most desired. With one exception, the Mareshop gloves which I’ve featured more than once before because I can’t get over how amazing these dragon scale style gloves look. Might actually buy a pair this year, I always resist because it seems like such a luxury. Excited to start seeing the leaves change colours and get together all the elements of my costume. Hope you are having a great start to fall season and enjoyed that crazy blood moon from last week!

September Treasures

september treasures

A few of my treasures this September as I try and get into the changing season and embrace Fall. Most of the Etsy items I picked out just give me that vibe of cooler weather and forests which I always associate with September and October. My favourites of the month are probably the Jungle Greenhouse necklace by Kate’s Little Shop and the clutch by Luna on the Moon (extra points of sharing a name) which are both exquisite accessories for any Fall look. Speaking of my favourites I’ve been wanting to include more things to my monthly treasure lists like tv shows, books and music but this month beside being very excited for the new X-Files tv episodes coming up I don’t have much on the horizon that I am very excited for. However thinking about incorporating more of those types of things next month, just need more time to ponder!

June Treasures

june treasures 4

June’s treasures are almost all 90s inspired which is exactly what I’ve been feeling lately. My favourite has to be the hand painted My Little Pony platforms (she makes Sailor Moon ones as well) and the Tooth and Eye leggings. I just started watching the new Sailor Moon remake a month ago and really want to get more figurines and other goodies so I’ve been looking on Etsy and Storenvy for fan made stuff. I’m also still saving up money for my trip in July so have to resist but can’t wait until I have my disposable income back. Also sorry about the last 2 weeks of no posts, had to spend some time working on the back end of the website as having security issues but should be good to go for the remainder of June.

February Treasures

February Treasures (2)February Treasures (1)

February Treasures start of the year with some of my favourite Valentine’s Day themed Etsy and Storenvy items for yourself or a lucky somebody. I would say roughly themed around Valentine’s Day as I always think of pink and candy this time of year even though it’s still dreadful outside and I’m sure there a blizzard around the corner.  I was thinking about sharing a whole bunch of cute cards I found on my search for Victor’s but I realize not many people do that anymore( if that’s your thing however check out my Etsy for TONs).I’m obsessed with the donut bracelet and the mushroom purse the most this month. Food accessories are always delightful to me for some reason, I wish my life was filled with watermelon dresses, ice cream purses and the like…

365 Challenge: July

Another month of 365, the last few weeks have been a little harder than usually because I have been on vacation (I just got home from Vancouver yesterday).  However I managed to keep up each day and so far haven’t missed any days or resorted to taking a photo with my phone. I am feeling very proud of myself and I feel like I’ve gotten into the swing of taking daily photos now.  So much so that I am thinking of themes and doing more elaborate ideas for daily photos. I am still pondering, and since I’ve already done 5 months its feel weird to just shift into a theme so perhaps I will have two different 365 projects or wait patiently until next March (I doubt that will happen). This biggest hurdle for July has been the days where I was too hot to even moving away from the fan – lol. I am enjoying this project very much and cannot wait for August’s 365. If you want to check out the previous round-ups: March, April , May  and June or my Tumblr!

Pick of the Week: Birthday Stuff!

caitlinhackettToday’s Pick of the Week is not the usual post as I want to show you guys some of the wonderful things I got for my birthday. Victor was so lovely and let me pick out a few prints that I wanted from Society6 for his present to me. I chose to get prints from Caitlin Hackett, Zina Nedelcheva, and Michael Shapcott. I have a folder for all the Society6 artist pages I like so I was so excited to pick out some of them to get. The only downside is now that I’ve gotten them I wish I had chosen to larger prints as the two large ones from Caitlin Hackett are just breath taking. My mother also sent me $50, so I bought some summer nail polish and the rest of it on instant film from B&H photography. That was it for presents but it was wonderful that on my birthday a few things I had picked up from Etsy came in the mail that day. I got a wonderful package of goodies from worriedeyes and some nail decals and sticker from RudysCandyShop.  There will be more about these two stores in future Pick’s of the Week so look out for that. I’m planning on buying myself a Golden Half  “Hello Kitty” camera for my present to myself. I think it’s great to buy yourself a present for holidays, especially if you are like me and don’t treat yourself to things very often. I am just waiting until August because I am saving up for my Vancouver trip (1 more day until my flight!) I am such a lucky girl, and had a great birthday two weeks ago.
