Marche Atwater

atwater marche flower plant garden (14)I love getting the chance to visit Marche Atwater every spring and pick out new plants to add to my inside garden as well as view all the amazing flowers they have there. Our apartment doesn’t offer much space on our balcony or by the windows so I love being able to day dream and think about what I would plant if I had a whole yard and house to fill. I just wish I knew more of their names. If you know any botany 101 books that include photos and North American plant varieties let me know as I’d be interested to try and learn so when I post photos of them I can identify them too.  We ended up leaving with a bunch of new plants, including a few air plants, a variety of succulents and a licorice plant to name a few. I also bought a small bunch of flowers to test grow on the balcony as I am unsure if they will get enough light. It’s so nice to have a space filled with life, I love it so much. I should probably take a few photos my what my garden looks like now with the new additions – maybe later this summer have they’ve grown a bit.

Summer Flowers

What’s better than summer flowers? Very little, I think. While taking these I was discussing with Zara who was with me that I’d love to take photos of plants for a living – for National Geographic or something. Of course I’m also super terrible at remember and identifying plants of any kind so I’d be pretty shit at it. Ummm in this shot I have the exotic purple flower…lol. I do know that the orange flowers are tiger lilies (Zara may have told me that)! These were all at the farm we went to pick blueberries at last week. They had a whole row of flowers just before you got to the orchards and they were just breathtaking. Hope you enjoy my flower shots and if you care to fill me in on their names, I’d love to know.

Montreal Botanical Gardens

Botanical Garden (75)Last week I showed you the amazing event Mosaicultures Internationales that happened at the Montreal Botanical Gardens but that wasn’t the only event happening when we went. They also had their usual Fall tradition of paper lanterns in the Japanese area as well the gardens were still full with flowers and life. Me and Victor have been before to the lantern festival and it’s really wonderful walking around with the lanterns glowing everywhere. This time however we were pretty exhausted from the crowd by the time it started to get dark so we checked it out in the daylight before heading off to grab pho. I thought I’d show you guys a few pictures I took just walking around the Botanical Gardens. I love walking around for hours even if it means my feet will hurt the next day. I hope this long weekend me and Victor go on a little bit of an adventure if it’s not raining.
