Multiple Exposure: Sunset Waves

Sunset waves are a series of multiple exposures taken during a summer camping trip a few years ago to Lake Ontario The sun was just starting to go down and you could see it disappearing along the water’s horizon, so I captured the sunset and waves of the lake as one.

Things That Make Me Smile

things that make me smile (7)What better way to start a Things That Make Me Smile post than our new bikes. Seriously in love with my early birthday present.

It took us about 3 hours as we stopped a lot and got lost. The weather was poor that day so I didn’t take many photos but I loved these two.

things that make me smile (10)First day at the lake! The water was really cold but that didn’t stop us from spending all our time there swimming.

That elephant statue by the way is $200 – and I really want it even though who would spend that kind of money on a disco ball elephant? Also the ice cream in the last photo is Korean and suppose to be a shark, it’s really really good so if you can find I highly recommend it.

things that make me smile (8)Lets end this very long Things That Make Me Smile with a self-portrait of myself after dying the tips of my hair purple (the camera tells lies, this is way more purple in person). Being bright and colorful always makes me smile.

Beach Polaroids

polaroid super shot instant photography (19)

For this week’s Vintage Tuesday I wanted to share with you some of the instant photos I took while camping a few weeks ago in Ontario. We went to the main beach of the Sandbanks Provincial Park in Prince Edward County on both days of the trip so we could swim and enjoy the sun. It was a blistering hot day, although the water was still pretty chilly on both days. The cold water didn’t stop me and Victor from enjoying it and spending most of our time swimming. I just had to take photos of Victor in the water because I loved the composition of him with the water around him and the beach in the background. I did take a few landscapes shots of the beach dunes and the park, and the beach itself as well. The beach was so sandy, a big change from what I’m used to. We definitely don’t have beaches this nice in Quebec. All the photos I’m sharing today were taken with my Polaroid Super Shot using Fujifilm FP-100C.

Double Exposures: Lake Ontario

Last month I had a chance to check out Prince Edward Country that’s on the northern part of Lake Ontario. I grabbed a few double exposures while there that I thought I’d share. These are just kind of random moments from the trip from our ferry ride over there to the Sandbanks beach where we swam.

Extra Train Shots

train shots (15)Okay so I lied last week when I said there wouldn’t be any more snow photos, but in all fairness there is actually still snow in Montreal. Much to my disdain as the yo-yo’ing of the weather has given me a permanent cold and I’ve been feeling unwell for weeks. But today I’d rather focus on happier days like my trip to Toronto at the start of February. I had a few shots left from the train ride up to Toronto and wanted to share them. Sadly the train’s windows were pretty dirty so all the photos have this smog quality to them but I just love the ones of Lake Ontario so much I couldn’t resist showing them. I was actually planned this big trip to one of the small towns that we drove past on the train a few weeks ago. I was hoping to go for my birthday weekend in July and just spend a few days with my feet in the sand and swimming in Lake Ontario as I’ve never swam or visited any of the Great Lakes. Sadly it turned out it’s the type of place families make a tradition of going to every year so this awesome motel I wanted to stay at on the beach side was literally booked for everyday for the whole summer already – ALREADY. That’s crazy to me. It was perfect too because we could have taken the train directly there and it was so small you could pretty much just walk everywhere. I’m tempted to book for next summer but Victor’s convinced me that it’s nuts. Hope you enjoy my train window shots!
