Well the brief week of warm weather and almost completely melted snow didn’t last. It’s freezing again but that means I can go to winter festivals and play in the snow so I am not complaining. I love the various events and festivals that happen in January and February – it’s a great time to be in Montreal. Although it be nice if there was snow and it wasn’t -30 outside. So I thought instead of making myself cold looking at photos of snow I’d share some more Vancouver photos like yesterday. My Birthday Party that we had on Wreck Beach (seriously my favourite place in Vancouver) was such a fun time and the day was just perfect. Seeing my friends was really special, I miss them so much. Oh and the ocean – seriously I miss the ocean like a long lost friend (island kid for life).
Wait that isn’t Butter! It’s actually my best friend Ana’s lovely cat Mishko! He is such a brat and spends his days sleeping on the coffee table as you can see. haven’t seen this guy in 2 years and he hasn’t changed a bit. He has the softest coat of all the cats I know, I don’t why Butter’s is not like this but he feels great. Ana’s parents actually got him a year after I got Butter because they loved hanging out with her so much and wanted their own kitty. I think the honeymoon is over though because he is one major brat now and just terrorize Ana. However we can enjoy his beauty at least. Haha, I think Butter could sense I was writing about another cat and leapt onto my lap and demanded cuddles. She has been ignoring me all day and now decides she wants company and sits on my computer – typical. Have a great weekend and Butter will return next week !
Last summer when me and Victor went by train to Quebec City for 2 days I brought along my Holga adapter for my Nikon camera. I had completely forgotten about these photos until last week when looking through old trip folders in preparation for my trip to Vancouver. I really loved the whimsical nature of these shots; it’s a very good presentation of Quebec City itself. I thought I’d show them off but I have quite a few so this week it’s more nature shots of trees and grassy hills and in two week it will be all about the unique architecture of this beautiful city.
A trippy look at the sights of Toronto. I shot these while on a trip to Toronto in 2012 during the spring using the Holga lens attachment for Nikon. The lo-fi effect is wonderful, its makes the digital shots feel like film. I am hope to do a review of the Holga lens next month after I’ve used it more in different situations but thought in the meantime I’d share my favourite shots from my trip. Most of these were taken around the downtown core in the Kensington Market area that I always stay at. I love the vibrant colors of the area and how you can see the CN Tower off in the distance, not to mention it has the best food. I definetly need to take more photos of Toronto, for some reason anytime I go I spend more time drinking and hanging out then snapping away (I blame my Toronto friends for that lol)
